I'm looking up how to rebuild a center arm on my 1982 FJ40. It does have power steering but I'm reading that I can rebuild my center arm or just get power steering installed. Does this imply that normally you don't have a center arm if you have power steering?

If you have mal-designed power steering, you have the center arm. If you have Saginaw or FJ60 power steering you do not have the center arm.

Fixed it for you 😉

OEM FJ40 power steering utilizes the center arm that all FJ40s had from the factory.

Yes, you can rebuild your center arm.

Thanks for the fix, but wasn't really broken. Both OEM Landcruiser P.S. and Mini Truck P.S. on a Landcruiser use the center arm. This then leaves another middle-man to wobble, plus a couple extra TRE's to wobble- - -too many middle-men in the steering operation for my taste
