I have a brand new centerarm I need to install cuz the old one is gone...problem is I just put in new ball joints a couple months ago. I was told I cant remove the center arm without destroying the joints with a pickle fork. Looks like heating the arm will burn the boots on teh joints. I took a few good swings with a hammer but I am asking advise here before I mess the whole thing up......whats the secret??? :-\

a specific tie rod end puller will pull it by pushing the threaded end through the center arm.. *um*... arm

I have had little luck with wheel pullers in this regard. TRE pullers should be solid with non-movable arms.

check your local auto supply store, they probably loan/rent them.
