This is to document my 2000 Toyota Land Cruiser Ownership.
Its only been a few months, but this rig has taught me alot already and is forcing me in a good way to become my own mechanic. I am the 4th owner (the 3rd just held 2 months it to flip it.)
The 2nd owner changed the front headlights/grill/bumper to 2006? because I ordered a 2000 grill and it doesnt fit. I have had the Immobilizer Issue, and the VSC Random Breaking on turns issue and have dealt with them appropriately.
Even with these issues, I have come to love the Cruiser and I am keeping it as our Overland/Camping rig for the foreseeable future.
History up to this point
First few Days of ownership pics with 20s and BFG K02s on it:
Added Bike Rack, Hilift and Thule Cargo within the first week, pic from a road trip to Orlando:
Killed a Local Carwash and had to rush home to get the soap off:
at home with my Daily Driver Audi A4:
exploring some back roads otw home from work:
In preparing for its longest trip Fort Lauderdale to Savannah GA, I installed brand new Battery, did Heater Ts, and since I had no master Keys I did this :
Went up to Savannah GA and the alternator died 3miles from the hotel, the NEW Battery just barely got us there...
Sitting dead in the hotel parking lot. The manager said I couldn't replaced the Alternator myself on the parking lot lol:
So i had to get it towed to a place close by:
alternator replaced:
The next day we went kayaking in Tybee Island, and this is when the Immobilizer Went Awry, thank GOD for mudd thread and got the Immobilizer JUMPED:
In tybee island with immobilizer jumped:
Needless to say, my wife doesnt trust this car now. The one long trip with it was an absolute nightmare for her. For me, we overcame everything thrown at us. Of course, none of this headache would have happened if we took her newer Van. LOL
Sitting pretty in Historic Savannah GA:
out exploring this past Fathers Day, my 20s had 285 55 r20 K02s which were just a tad over 32":
I knew these 20s were not gonna do it for me for camping/overlanding/wheeling. I had Tundra 18 Steelies from my Tundra, set about to recondition and paint them, but I found Alloys for cheap on Craigslist and bought those instead. I am glad I did, because they are way lighter (and any MPG help, helps)
Got the same K02s on the 18s and took out the 20s:
Tundra Alloy 18s on 275 70 r18 BFG K02s (i actually like the non wheel cap look)

No Master Key ECU Swap for Virginized ECU with Keys
I bought my TLC with no Master Key and was fretting over losing the only key I had. I took up Mauser's Virginized ECU with Programed Keys Service on this thread: https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/master-keys-ecu-virginizing-service.1140651/#post-12393588 Mauser shipped the his Virginized ECU+...
