This happened out of the blue yesterday to my cruiser. Took it to my mechanic right away and he told me what it was and reset it. Cel came back again today.

I'd like to know how serious this is, how does it affect the car, and can I wait until I have to inspect my car in 11 months to fix it.

I'm worried that if I don't do anything about it for months, if I get another cel code, I wouldn't even know about it since the cel light is already on.

I've got one of those Bluetooth obd connectors, What's a good Android app to check cruiser codes and are there any that can reset the codes?

Thank you

Torque App will tell you the error code, use the free version.

Bank one should be the driver side and bank two is passenger side. You have an O2 sensor above and below each cat. Is going to have an impact on your mpg. Not hard to replace - longest part for me was taking the skid plate off.

Can also cause the ECU to futz with the fuel mix which could put unburnt gas into the cat, destroying the catalytic material inside. it. O2 sensor's like $70, cat is like $700. Just replace the sensor.

Ok. I've heard that it's best to just get OEM. If so, where's the cheapest place to get one?

Oh, and I guess I need to know the exact part number to order. How do I know?

TLCFaq lists heated oxygen sensor part numbers and O2/AF sensor part numbers. What's the difference? I understand if I have the Bank 1 Sensor 1, then it's the drivers side upstream sensor.. I'm still confused on which part number I need. One of the threads here someone said that Denso sensors ARE toyota sensors. So why does TLCFaq list them as different part numbers?

From doing a search on these forums, seems like everyone who faces this trouble code has a hell of a time finding a straight answer too.
I just wanna know which one to order!! :D

How bad will the MPG be?

Thanks
When I purchased my cruiser I got about 10 miles from the dealer and got a similar code on bank 2. I replaced it and bank 1 for a PM. Think I averaged about 9 mpg on the trip home. After replacements I’ve gotten 15 to 16 for the past 6 years. Now I need to replace the exhaust system (2000 LC with 210k)
