I'm starting a new thread for a planned run this Sunday morning. Onur and I are planning a run around Cedro Peak in the Manzanos, just south of I-40 and South 14 (Hwy. 337). Onur posted the following link with more details:

We'll be meeting at my house at 8:00 AM and we'll plan to be on the road by 8:15 or so, since we've got to get Onur to work by early afternoon. It would be great to have some more people go along.

I live in Tijeras, and the house is only 15 minutes from Tramway and Central. The directions sound complicated, but it's step-by-step to the house.

Just in case, the home phone is 281-9676, and my cell is 238-7226. Hope to see a bunch of High Desert Cruisers on Sunday morning. :bounce:

Here are directions to my house:

* Take I-40 east of ABQ to the Zuzax exit (it's the next exit after the one for Tijeras/Cedar Crest)
* At the stop sign at the top of the Zuzax exit ramp, turn left and go over the freeway.
* At the next stop sign (at the north frontage road), turn left--this is North Zamora Road
* You should now be heading back toward ABQ (west) on the north frontage road--go west about 1/2 mile
* Turn right on Gutierrez Canyon Road and go about 1 mile (Gutierrez Canyon Road is the first major paved road--the street sign was twisted slightly and it may look like it says North Zamora)
* Turn right on El Refugio Road (there are signs near the corner that say "Archery Range" and “Trucks Turning”--this is just before the pavement ends)
* Follow the road down the canyon and back up the other side (about 1/2 mile)
* Turn right on Rickrock Lane and go about 1/4 mile to the house (#11 Rickrock Lane)
* You will pass one house to the right, then you will pass another house up the hill to the left. You’ll see a sign that says “Private Road—E & E Ashcraft”
* Rickrock Lane will take you right to the house--brown stucco home with lots of windows up on the side of the hill.

I don't get off until 9am, but maybe I'll just dash home & get my dogs & meet ya'll at the gate below the tower.

We should be on Channel 40 on the CB...

Graham/Rory/Ali/Beo--you guys in?

Maybe. I will try to get a work release permit for the day. I have screwed up so many home projects over the past 2 weeks that I am doubting my ability to change a light bulb much less fix a non-functioning swamp cooler, leaking pipes, and faulty faucets.

Shall I walk across the street and have a chat with the boss?

If it works for him, come on over and try to get me a work release permit. :D

Sorry bud, you're on yer own with Connie.

I'm a maybe but am in the same boat as Mike, with chores and THE BOSS. I've had the front yard torn up for weeks and there's a decent chance I can finish it this weekend. We'll see what happens.

Why don't you guys work your tail off on the home projects on Saturday like good little slaves and go wheeling Sunday? It's time to MAN UP:flipoff2:

Saturdays are for breaking stuff and botching up everything I touch. Sundays are for buying more stuff and attacking the projects from Plan B.

I gave up my right to 'MAN UP' several years ago. You can interpret that however you want. Maybe that's why I'm still married.

I'll probably be there. I'll check later.
