I used to see military trucks (jeeps or HMMWV) with a whip that were bent down and clipped to the roof. I am guessing it was unclipped when stationary.

Just a random idea, but besides looking super tacticool, do you think a 108" whip done up like that would actually function well enough to be used while clipped/tied down? At look least in comparison to something like a 3' or 4' firestik that is mounted to a fender or rear hatch? I would think the radiation pattern would be wonky, but would the 108" length, coupled with the partial vertical bits, offset that?
