so what are a few of the main causes of intakes being "unflat".

getting ready to replace my old header and wondering if it's worth the work to pull another intake and have that trued. daily driver, needs to be done-in-a-day.

i don't seem to have any intake leaks now(i have 15-16 inchs of vac), although i do have exhaust leaks at the manifold.

gasket going on is a toyota part.

I think that over time heat is what warps them (duh, I know  ). How warped is it? Do you mean pull your intake or one off another vehicle to get trued?

You have to have the intake off to bolt up the new header gasket anyway right? If you're concerned about it I'd just call the local machine shop and find out a good time that they could do it for you while you wait. If you think it's warped badly it's best to get it all done right the first time around, and it doesn't take that much time and it's really not that expensive to get it machined.
