I don't know how accessible that leaking weld is but you could try wrapping exhaust repair tape around it. or some JB weld exhaust repair. I've used the tape before and it held for years.

I wonder if the Texas dealership would be open to you sourcing your own parts given the delay. Especially since you're bringing them Toyota parts. Can you get in touch with Wisconsin dealership and get your hands on them?We made it home. Its at Toyota Dallas. There is no ETA at all for the parts. Tundra owners are waiting 3 months. That Toyota Dealership in small town Wisconsin could get them all in 5 days. But Texas is for some reason limited to the Gulf States supply chain. I just took the wraps off my 37 year old FJ60 that hasnt been getting much use. Protect your Catalytic Converters. Now!
If they don’t. Find a dealer that will, IMOI wonder if the Texas dealership would be open to you sourcing your own parts given the delay. Especially since you're bringing them Toyota parts. Can you get in touch with Wisconsin dealership and get your hands on them?
Yes. But it would likely cost more than I want to pay in shipping.I wonder if the Texas dealership would be open to you sourcing your own parts given the delay. Especially since you're bringing them Toyota parts. Can you get in touch with Wisconsin dealership and get your hands on them?
The service is slow only because of the supply chain on many parts, particularly this one. I have heard very good things about Davenport.Davenport Motor Company in Plano is a great independent Toyota/Lexus shop, maybe you could get quicker service with them.
Yet another reason I’d want to wipe out whatever species of bird is the grackle.I wonder if someone will come up with a motion sensor placed under the vehicle…and if it senses motion while car is off, then it activates the alarm system. No need for armor. No need to drill holes into frame/body to install protection plates etc..
Take it to the bank!
Yep, video on YouTube repurposing some home alarm items to do this.I wonder if someone will come up with a motion sensor placed under the vehicle…and if it senses motion while car is off, then it activates the alarm system. I read that Land Cruisers and Prius will deliver more platinum than most other cats will.I wonder how big a problem cat theft is for land cruisers. Most trucks are parked in garages at night. I can’t fathom having a cat problem 2000 miles from home. I guess I’ll park my truck overnight with the ahc on low.
As the economy continues to falter, I’d expect this gets worse. The morning news … View attachment 3048040
Yes, I ordered these over the transmission skid.. Not a skid plate but a stainlesss theft deterrent. approx cost is somewhere around $450..I just spoke with Budbuilt.
They should have a plate released within the month for just protecting the catalytic converter.
Sounds promising.
Though I don’t know why the transmission skid plate wouldn’t work to protect the cat.
(she explained but I didn’t get it)
Perhaps the transmission skid plate is just more expensive than necessary if one isn’t looking for off-road armor.
