 I asked about two weeks ago for help finding a radiator for my FJ73 with a 3-F engine. I got one response--to check out radiatorbarn. That has not panned out. If anyone can help me in this hemisphere I would greatly appreciate it. I have called every dealer--I mean every dealer in the Caribbean to no avail. I understand that FJ73s are still made/used in Venezuela--does anyone have a contact there? Or even Australia!!

Thanks,
Grant

Here's a part number for you.

16400-61060

This fits 3F engine for FJ70 or FJ73 with Manual Transmission for y/m 84/11 to 90/01. This number is Valid in the US and is roughly $400.

16400-61070
16400-61080

These are also for 3F FJ70-73 but for Automatics and Manuals localized to certain markets, but i looked at the pics and they look the same.

Cabe Toyota--strike out

The part numbers are not available through any dealer in the US according to Cabe Toyota. I was not able to talk to Wes. I am still open to any suggestions.

Thanks

can yours not be repaired?

Is there not a rad shop anywhere near you? Generally rads can be repaired, altered or anything you need done. They can move inlets, make them smaller etc.

The re-coring shop on St. Maarten, the nearest island charges $500 a pop. Plus, West Indian quality standards are not necessarily what they are elsewhere. I will check the above options and get back. Thanks. Never thought a radiator would be this difficult. Even have checked around in Australia to avail.

explain the problem with your rad.

Rads can be soldered yourself. A torch, some flux, and solder. So if its a small leak you maybe able to re-seal it yourself.

Whats wrong with your rad?

The tanks are fine. There are just loads of holes in the tubes and vent areas that keep spraying water. It is my only work vehicle and have I have about 12 archaeology volunteers arriving in about two weeks. I want a dependable radiator by then.

Thanks for you help everyone.

What about out of Australia or New Zealand?
2 weeks is enough time to have it express shipped.
It would be expensive, but if you need it that bad.

Cheers,
N

The 4 core OEM rad for my BJ74 was $500 CND.
So its going to be somewhat expensive, but $1100 USD is absurd.

Try 4wheelauto.com they might be able to help.
I can't believe I forgot about them.
I just placed an order yesterday. :)

Cheers,
N.

I think the 500 bucks from the shop you mentioned above is the best choice.

500 isn't bad. There is no way you can get a rad shipped to you from NA or OZ for less than 500 bucks.

It was $500 for a re-core--I want a new one as i have had bad experiences with the re-core shop. The 4wheelauto.com did not work out either. I have just tried urban landcruisers in Atlanta and there is no answer.... Any suggestions for Australia or New Zealand?

May be

Here in Colombia you can find a new radiator for the 1FZ (U$ 1250 + Ship), i don't if it fits, also you can try in www.distoytota.com, or call +57 (1) 6270070, tomorrow from 8:00am to 12:30pm or on Tuesday. If you have any problem I’ll try next week.

Carlos

So you've had bad luck with that particular re-core shop?

I've had decent re-cores before. Anything is better than nothing.
