If you can afford it,just take the whole thing off and get a kit put through it by someone who knows what they are doing.
That is unless it has an easy fix .

Could even be a fuel pump.

Diesels will run upside down;)

i assume its the standard carby as far as i no looks pretty stock, rosco do u no how much they are charging in perth?

About $300. Ring a few carby shops in the yellow pages. Check whether the price includes the vac secondary gadget on the side as that cost $40 on its own.

A good shop can bench tune them so you plonk it back on and driveaway.

I had mine done by Malaga Carby and Electrical in Oxleigh ave Malaga.

They are good carbs, dont listen to anyone who says fit a Horrible Holley

while where are talking 3F carbies, what can be done to get a bi more out of them? i've heard something about a mod toget the secondaries to open earlier? my mechanic wants to wire the secondaries wide open all the time STUFF THAT!! need some off idle grunt!

cheers

hi
i've been fiddling with my carb (stock) down here in southern chile, I first leaned it too much to try and get better mileage, but the engine was just about choked with no power, I then ran it way too rich for a while where it guzzle gas, now I think I got it right, good throtle response and probably getting 5.7 klms per liter over rough roads. I will go for the DUI distributor next.

Ive never seen anything better than having them adjusted to how hey are supposed to be.
Most owners go for a carby swap if they want a little bit more power and are happy to fiddle with it for weeks/months and maybe some more;)
