Plug gap for pertronix is wider than stock, if you haven't already set them. Some pertronix set ups run better with a hotter coil also.
I got the Pertronix coil as well. I set the plug gap to .031, maybe go bigger when I clean them,

So this morning I went and checked that fuel was getting into the carb, saw gas at the middle of the fuel window and adjusted the fuel mixture and the idle screw as mentioned although the idle screw is fairly hard to determine where it stands. I also did the plug switch and dizzy move and it wasn't happy, didn't start so I switched it back. I just now hooked up the solenoid to the coil and got it to run! Checked the timing and moved the dizzy to South of the oil filler tube and adjusted the advance dial on the dizzy to get it right. Runs pretty smoothly and I can start it right back up. Smells a little bit rich so I may crank down on the mixture screw just a touch. Thanks for the help!

Pertronix FAQ says to open the gap no more than .007 over factory spec. I seem to recall running mine at .035 when I had it.
