Hey guys i was just wondering how hard is a carb rebuild on a fj60 and would it worth looking into a fuel injection transfer.:D

There's many threads on this here in this section--if you do a search you'll find plenty.

Carb rebuilds can really bring a motor back to life again. There are a couple of guys names you'll see come up repeatedly that do excellent carb rebuilds for a small fee if you're not carb inclined.

It is possible to take the fuel injection and head off of a 3FE motor and transplant it to your 2F, essentially making it a 2FE. Not nearly as simple as a carb rebuild. Again, lots of info can be had in a search.

Hope that helps!

The only carbs I'd ever rebuilt before was lawn-mower carbs and a 2-cycle 250cc dirtbike carb and I had no problem rebuilding the Carb on my 60. I was a little worried about getting the throttle linkage hooked back up right, but it ended up being easier than I thought.

Im just like Gabbo but i think that the all the hoses will be hard to hook back up!

Get the 2F motor FSM if you're gonna do it... There are a lot of little things to miss in the carb rebuild if you don't have a good reference.

But I let Mark Algazy (see my sig line) do mine and it runs great. He takes carbs by mail. Turnaround is about a week with mark.

Also Jim C (FJ40jim) is another Carb Magician and an avid MUD member.

Both guys have tricks of the trade (i.e. getting secondaries to open sooner), that mere mortals like you and I will never know. :meh:

I've never rebuild a carb but have read enough on here to know it's kindergarten stuff compared to fuel injection conversion.

I'm desmogging so all those hoses are like second nature to me. (Just need to cut out a block off-plate wOOt!) I marked the ends of the hoses with colored sharpies then took pictures just in case though.
