Carb fan heat sensor wire broken (1 Viewer)

On my 84, the wire between the sensor connection plug and the vehicle harness broke. I was able to disassemble the male part of the connector, where the broken wire terminates, but I do not think the female spade connector will survive being unterminated to add a new wire.
I am looking for solutions that might allow me to keep the OEM plug, or at the very least a solution as rugged and reliable as the OEM plug since it is in such proximity to the exhaust manifold.

By the way, it is so much easier to remove and replace the sensor from under the vehicle.

I think you could repair it with new non-insulated male and female connectors, solder and the use of a non insulated crimping tool. I think soldering would help it survive all the tugging and pushing trying to get everything back into the plastic connectors.

Mine came with a broken wire which was repaired with a section of bicycle brake cable by the PO. That made the carb fan work. I have since repaired it with just a spliced in section of wire. Worked fine for me and carb fan works to this day. I was missing all the plugs on mine so little different than you OP. But to do it right contact @ToyotaMatt or go here:

Most break,I left the connector off and just used tin coated marine wire. No problems in 20 years.
