1972 Aisin double barrel...
Anyone have detailed instructions on how to adjust that biznich?

The only real "adjustments" are the idle speed, the fast idle speed (when the choke is pulled out) and the idle fuel mixture.
What symptoms are you having?

hes getting mad backfiring. were talkin while he was in the cab rev-ing the engine up to about 2k, there were flames lickin out of that baby.... is it possible that a bad valve or spring or lifter could not be closing therefore letting the explosion out of the engine back into the carb?

If backfiring outa the carb.....to lean....carb plugged with crud=rebuild.
If backfiring outa the exhaust.....running waaaay too rich =carb rebuild. Well maybe float stuck, needle and seat bad, but rebuild anyway.
No adjustment for either, sorry.

yea its backfiring...but this is a new carb. there is nothing wrong with it...do you think the backfiring out of the intake and exhaust could just be because the carb is out of adjustment?

oh by the way john, sandrider...i love your signature lol

More often than not when there is backfiring out of the carb, the carb is the VICTIM, not the culprit.

Check timing and compression [for valve adjustment]

The compressiong is good just did a check little earlier and the timing was just adjusted by a mechanic. so they should be ok. Do you think it could simply be the cvarb and it not being adjusted right??

Never assume because 'it was done by a mechanic' that's it's been done right...

Right! Bust out the timing light and check it yourself...

Have you set the valve lash recently?

How do you know this is a new carb - and how can you say there is nothing wrong with it - details please...
