Me too.

Those trucks really are true porn for us here in NA.

And to boot--those who give the 1FZ a hard time for the HG issue, the fact of the matter is that they are still using that engine through 2008. They get the cool direct ignition as well as desmogged versions probably netting a few more HP....

Regardless, we'll never see those vehicles here and only if we have oodles of money to import one in.

I wonder just how much it would cost to bring a newer one in...

Probably well north of $100K--unless you worked overseas as a diplomat, worked for an NGO, involved in the CIA/NSA, and other secret governmental organizations.

My buddy Kirk in Ohio looked into bringing a new 70 series into the country from OZ and hiring someone to do all of the work for him would have been over $50K.

EDIT: The person he would have hired would have taken care of all of the export/import work, transportation logistics, and finally all of the work necessary to convert OZ diesel specs. to accommodate US EPA diesel standards--i.e., lots of engine bay work for emissions crap. He basically said that it was cheaper to LT-1 his 80 series (including buying lots of stuff from Mark's in OZ) as well as buying 2-3 Toy vehicles (thus his purchase of Slee's Shortbus and some other toys). That said, Kirk has the necessary funds to pull this kind of stuff off.

I'd be happy just to import a direct ignition 1FZ engine or at least just the top end (intake, head, IGN stuff) and then slap that biotch into my engine bay :D
