I’m looking at going camping on the beach at Cape Lookout in a couple weeks. I’ve never been. Have any of you? If you have, can you offer some pointers?

Air down, dont take a drone, obey the speed limit, stay off the dunes, pay attention to the closure signs, bring bug spray, lots of bug spray. if you're tenting, make longer spikes. I made some from 18 inch pieces of rebar, painted with epoxy paint, and wrapped with reflective tape on the ends.

also, there are boat/shipwrecks and old car chassis that occasionally get exposed. the unexposed parts love to chew tires.

There are a couple of great Cape lookout fishing groups on fb, and the national park service CALO fb page has a LOT of good updates.

last bit of advice. just like fight club, there is no CALO. more peeps dont need to find out about that slice of heaven
