i have the FSM and the owners manual for my 78 and they both have US only diagrams. Just wondering what each of the 8 fuses are for and what amperage is needed for each. Thanks.

This is from a '79 FJ40; but should be real close:

Top down:

TAIL (15A)

STOP & HORN (15A

HEADLIGHTS (15A)

RADIO (5A)

LIGHTER (15A)

HEATER (20A)

TURN & WIPER (20A)

ENGINE (15A)

AMMETER protected by two inline (5A), main wiring harness.

COOLER [AC] protected by single (15A) same place

CARB FAN protected by single (5A) not sure where located...

dfm

the bottom fuse on my panel is for a shorter fuse - about half the length of the rest of them. there was a 7.5A fuse in there. i think that mine might be different than what you have listed.

anybody know for a 80bj40 what the fuses are ?
Thanks , Daryl

check where your heater is also your horn . easy to check .then we can look from there . you are going from top to bottom of the fuse block right ?? i looked back as far as 1973 as new as 82 and none of them show headlight where you have shown it .headlight should be one down or where your turn/wiper is ??
