Canadian 86 Landcruiser model code

Hi everyone,

I'm really interested in an 86 cruiser for sale nearby, but I don't know a lot about the older Landcruiser models. I'm trying to find out the model & engine designation for a 1986 Landcruiser with a 5spd manual and 6cyl diesel engine in Canada. Anybody got some numbers and letters for me so I can figure out what I need to watch out for/prevent from blowing up/melting down? Thanks!

6 cyl. diesel would be a 2H engine. so it must be a wagon... HJ60.

the trans. is an H55f if it's a 5 spd.

Lots of things,

rust is the major thing tho. Becareful.

Look at the frame really good.

The japanese imports( from japan, but used) are a decent choice too. But a liitle more money. But cleaner with less issue of rust.

RHD thought.

Get a compression check and look it over closely.

Thanks guys! Unfortunately the one I was looking at is sold. Boo.
There is an automatic model (higher price) around, but I think I'll hold out for the 5spd. I'll be sure to give all of them a good look underneath before I commit to anything.
