Even with shipping, if everything engine back is pristine (the the 2LT is truly dead) this seems like a good 1UZ candidate, no?I think there is must be a good opportunity there to import these to north america! We have no limits on engine swaps and turbos. That is a very cheap price.
Do you mean the cruisers with the removable tops? Or your troopy as well? All my 40's had air leaks and drafts..... even with new seals, and adjusting hinges and door latches, you could make it better, but never perfect. I figured it was just the nature of the fact they could be dismantled. One thing I never liked about the 7* series, is the draft you get from the gaps around the door. I guess they made the door with enough clearance for the body to flex. They all do it.

All the 7* series I have owned or driven. At first I thought the 73 series was accident damaged and not repaired properly but they were all that way. 7* series cabs are designed to flex and I imagine toyota have left some room around the frame for this to happen. I never tried replacing the door seals because they looked in good condition. Being fairly warm here, it's never bothered me, except on the really cold days and putting the heater fan on sort of pressurised the cab and kept the cold out.
Must be a southern hemisphere calamity...
But you could blame it on global warming or something. Everything else seems to be, or covid...![]()
You can imagine my surprise as well then, coming from mostly driving 40's, and suddenly getting into a well insulated and sealed 76 for the first time and having luxury items such as air conditioning, power windows and locks, and.... a sunroof?? I thought I was in an escalade, not a land cruiser. After the well needed suspension work, it rides so smoothly now it just want to travel in it....I think my 74 is pretty dang quiet. Maybe my expectations are lowerbut I was honestly impressed with how quiet mine was driving it. Only "wind noise" I get is from the snorkel sometimes depending on wind direction. Mine was pretty drafty but I replaced the vapor barrier(it was gone) and that stopped most of it.
The softtop isn't that bad either and I was expecting flap flap flap the whole time.
