So the deal is, this acutator was shot! Posting this mainly so if anyone needs another reference and to show that no matter how bad it looks , it could work. I'll let you know Sunday funday! Bi-directional springs rusted together , actuator rod froze in case, worm gear froze in bearing that was shot , capacitors were broke free from their soldered spots , and of course magnets were unattached . What's crazy is there is literally no rust under this thing. I suppose the vent tube(was attached when I pulled actuator ) was broke somewhere else up the line and allowed moisture. On to the craptacular photos.

If you do a search, you'll find some threads that'll show you some rusted actuators that were in way worse condition then yours, that were brought back from the dead.

witsend sells a rebuild kit from landtank couple orings etc. cheap

I picked up the wits end kit. Had to pick up the z608 bearing and the capacitors separate.
Yea Im surprised Joey dosent have the full rebuild avail.

The capacitors i kind of guessed on, couldnt get an exact match because mine were broke, and every thread I went through didnt have a part number or a good enough pic for reference . The bearings are literally less than a buck at fastenal.

After cleaning and rebuilding mine it now works.. I'd say yours appears to be in better shape then mine was.. Good luck!

No one upping on s***iness of rear actuators lol. In fairness , the photos I posted were after parts(all the metals at least) sitting in atf for a week .

Ok, rookie question here. Why not have a lever / knob / cable actuated front and rear diff locker? Eliminate the electric actuator? Yes, it would suck crawling under the vehicle to lock / unlock the front and rear diffs - but reliable has HELL!

Just a thought for the day.

This has been done. A few years ago I read where one or several had climbed that mountain and with pics etc.
