Can I add an OEM leaf to my new OME? (1 Viewer)

I believe I have the light front, which obviously in retrospect was a mistake. I'll measure that out tonight. Wrap is on fixed end. I'm calling today to AAL. Although I've never installed one and am unsure as to the proper method. Will I need new bushings, or do I not even need to remove shackle ends to put it in?
Techically you don't need to remove shackle ends to install AAL, remove the ubolts and raise the axle away from the spring, the center pin needs to be removed and I would reccomend clamping the spring prior to removal of the centerpin, once the centerpin is out unclamp insert the AAL and reassemble.......Bushings should not need replacing unless they are overly worn which does not seem to be the case with yours...

Sounds like what I've heard is how you do it. Although having just installed an OME, I know it never goes to plan.

I have the same problem with my new OME springs and think about to install AAL.Please send some pics frome before and after the AAL install.

Will do, I'll take pictures and measurements.

What leaf did you end up getting?

Hm, I talked to CruiserOutfitters and I know I'm turning my Light/Medium pack up front into a heavy. The say I should get an inch. Search isn't working, but I think its like the xl11 or something like that. I'll let you know when I find it.

So, I did it. I started with about 4 inches between wheel and the fender, now there's about 5.3. Here are the pictures. It was super easy. Haven't given it a drive yet though!

That's me taking it off, very simple. then you loosen it all up IMG_20141018_130946_749.jpg , trying to keep the holes aligned with a screw driver IMG_20141018_132037_048.jpg .
And slide in the new leaf into the pack. IMG_20141018_131251_100.jpg .

Nice, any specs on the leaf?
I might do that to my ome too.
What length is it, and is it the number 3 from top?

I'll take a look at the receipt to get the exact nomenclature later. Great improvement in many ways. It is indeed third. Now I just need to get new tie rod/drift link ends and get it aligned. Got some hid projectors in the mail too. Let there be light!

Don't pay for an alignment... Very easy to do yourself.

Tie rod/Drag links in the mail. Got my DapperLights today. SO disappointed. IMG_20141025_122619_888.jpg

I'm sure the lights are awesome, but I was so excited about putting them in, then to see one arrive cracked.
So I just went for a drive.

Popped in the DapperLights. Haven't adjusted yet, but here is a rough comparison between my stock high-beams and the HID low. Disclaimer: they are terrible pictures.

Spock, getting ready to AAL to my front OME's.

I know this might vary from one rig to another...but when you did yours, did it necessitate a longer center pin ?

Thanks, John

Nope, the OME pin was plenty long for one leaf! In other news MY LITTLE LAND CRUISER WONT START!
