love seeing this truck wheel. Need to come visit and hit some trails with ya since im closer!

Don’t come wheeling with us unless you are ok with a caved in door or 1/4 lol

Bump.

Is there a car seat in this thing yet?

😁
Tehehe.

Not yet. Got the plan just need to fab the anchor. Got a few buddies with the same need so I may make a few.

I'll have to get lil man some ear muffs too. Exhaust is too much for him for a while.

Interested to see what you come up with for the car seat. I have the same need.

Tried to look back and reference the rear brake hose I used...I guess I never logged it here...BH621950 from Oreilly. It's a ~24" long hose from late model BMWs. They're almost always in stock @ <$20.

The rear suspension has been violent at full jounce since the get go. I'm also tired of leaving this truck behind because that behavior just isn't ok with a kid in the backseat. So I fixed it this week.

Moved the shock crossmember higher to let the shocks have all the up travel they can take. Shes at 4" up, 6" down now. Then added some leftover 60 and 80 rear bumpstops to soften things a bit when the crash hits.

Exhaust as-routed will most certainly hit the edges of the spring plate at full jounce, but it was free.99. I'll get a better tailpipe routed one day.

Is that a helmholtz resonator on your exhaust?

Swapped out the brake master cylinder today. Moved from an FZJ80 (1" bore) to a mid-80s Supra (15/16" bore). Advics PN BMT105. Soooo much more feel and maintained the stout braking. Must reroute the 60's front brake line out from under the booster to get the length to reach the front port. Definitely the goldilocks MC for the 5th gen front brakes.

Had to count it up...there are 9 different model Toyotas making up this truck now lol.

I just put this same MC in my truck a couple days ago. Made a huge difference.

TLDR: just buy RCV birfs when upgrading

Bought these TG Longfields back in '21 when the truck was built as RCV was backordered into oblivion. They've been run in a part time truck the whole time and have a couple years of hard trail use. Still, they should've held up better than this.

Found the problem when I couldn't rotate the birfs while the knuckles were turned. Opened up the joints and found this crap. Both side of the inner race on each joint has displaced steel. Not worn, just pushed aside - not often you see steel smear like that. And both of these lived smothered in EP moly. They're garbage, soon to be desk art.

Black and orange box is already ordered to upgrade the upgrade.

The original Bobby Longs would not have done that. IMO
Sadly this is more the norm these days.

Better that you found it now before they let go.

TBT my RCVs let go before they should have IMO but RVC stood behind them 100%

I wasn’t as luck they let go right in the middle of Fordyce trail. Made it a interesting exit 😂

Agreed. Its all a race to the bottom now it seems. Hoping the RCVs inbound hold up better.

I was on borrowed time for sure. Wheeled it hard last week too. I'm lucky as hell it didn't frag.

Did you step up to 300Ms
Or do they even have them for the 60s ?
I’m confident that the RCV will be better !
