Hi Guys,

I have been looking at 70 series for while now and the time has come to buy one. I currently drive an FJ cruiser with 100k miles but it's time for an upgrade.

I'm currently looking at a 2014 GRJ76 with 10.000 miles with no lockers at a great price. I'm looking for advice and things I should look out for.

I read in some places that the rear diff in the wagons with LSD was weaker than in the LC79, is this true?

Why is there less ground clearance in the 76 230mm than in the 79 235mm? 5mm is nothing but I'm trying to understand if there is a difference in parts.

Any difference between the VDJ76 and GRJ76 besides the engine?

Thanks for your time. Any advice or information is greatly appreciate it.

The 79 series is designed to carry heavier loads and has different and longer leaves. It will ride much stiffer unloaded. Toyota usually try and use the same parts across the range but there will be differences that are far too many to list here. And it wouldnt bother me anyway.
