hey folks! is their anybody in Victoria that can appraise Land Cruisers? It's been a long time since i've had my '71 FJ40 and i'm a little out of touch with what things are worth nowadays. plus this 42 needs a lot of work which i've never had to deal with.. i want to go look at it, but don't know exactly what i'm looking for (if that makes sense)

yes, there's lots of places that will inspect cars, but will they really understand what a cruiser is? lol any sugestions would be apprieciated.. i hope to be joining the club soon, guy's! thanks!

Is this the Bj42 being sold by James Clowater?

I just seen a email about it. Looks like a bunch of work. But Might be worth it.

yeah, thats the one!! i don't really want to jump on the first one i see, but i'd like to take it for drive just to get behind the wheel again - and really get hooked!! i have to start looking around and comparing things before i make a stupid move. got some research to do.. looks like a good place to start.

i dunno, i would think if he could drop a $500-$1000 it could be good. i'm thinking $2500(?) for a new tub, $1500 min. for body/paint(?) might be way off though. if somebody has a place to work on it and can do most of it.. could be good. i'm not really set up for it right now...

Yours still for sale Greg?

Ya that one James is selling is a bit rusty. I got sent the email with the ad. Not sure how he knew to send it to me.

I did ask about one for sale a while back on BC4x4 forum. Might be the same one.

I have seen some Bj42 models go for 3. but they were way rustier than that one.

Might be ok at 4500 or 5. But I would definately do a new tub. And retreat the frame.

Also important if you are doing a resto is that it is complete, as some of the small parts I imagine are impossible to find.

Unless you own a parts business :D

Yup, I really have not advertized it in any papers or such; It's on Mud and SOR. I will get serious in a few months.

There is a huge aftermarket of 4* series stuff for the renovation or restoration...so parts are not that much of a concern.

I think mine is a great deal and is underpriced...but then I should think that eh? :D
