hey guys im lookin at a landcruiser 60 series 83 model pwr steer,air lots of new parts and money spent 2h diesel 360000kms body in very good condition wat sort of problems should i look for and are they good 4wding i have a fj45 with 350 chev but mrs wants air,steer,reliability,bit more comfort

Hows the interior? If that's alright then you can take care of the mechanical stuff and be all set I reckon.

I think you and the Mrs will be pleased with the wagon. I've owned a variety of LC's and the 60 series is our favorite.

Very good reliable rig that will go anywhere.

Check the axle spec / make sure it has a rear LSD. Imports have an open diff which sucks for offroad.

Auto / Manual ?? 12V or 24V ??

how do you check if it has lsd?
 
Have a look at the ID plates in the engine bay - where it says trans / axel, there will be a code.

Check: TLC FAQ - 9.1 Axle Codes for summary of all codes

Photo of my aussie HJ61 ID plate attached - it reads A440F K085.

A440F = 4sp auto trans
K = Regular landcruiser
'08' = LSD fitted,
'5' = 4.11 diff ratio
