DETAILS:
1997 Lexus LX450 – Matte Black with 178,XXX miles
Purchased a 100 Series to accommodate family needs and to do more overland trips.
$15,000.00
$13,500.00
$12,000.00
THE GOOD
· Was originally a TX vehicle with a short stint in UT before I had it in So Cal for the last 10+ years so there are no issues with road salt damage
· Triple locked – Factory
· 3.5” FOR (Frankies Off-Road) custom springs – front are progressive rate
· Slee Off-Road caster correction plates with urethane bushings
· Bilstein 7100 remote res short body shocks in rear
· Bilstein 5100 shocks in front
· 315/75/16 BF Goodrich KM2 Mud Terrain tires with 75% tread (full size spare)
· 4.88 gears
· Custom .25 wall rock sliders
· Custom Demello Off-Road front bumper
· Custom rear bumper with tire swing out (rear x-member removed and replaced by bumper to increase departure angle)
· Superwinch (9500 lb)
· Slee Off-Road belly pan skid
· Slee Off-Road rear locker actuator protection
· HD (.25 wall) rear lower links with heim joints
· Safari Snorkel
· Aux radiator fan
· Marlin Crawler HD Tie rod and Tie rod ends
· Custom exhaust to route over the frame rail with Magnaflow muffler
· Line-X sprayed on lower body panel to cover up where Lexus body cladding was removed
· Motorola CB radio
· Blue Sea aux electrical distribution and fuse block
· 25lb CO2 tank with 150 PSI regulator for filling tires and/or running air tools
· All windows, including the front driver/passenger were tinted. Very difficult to see in to the back from the outside.
THE BAD
· Plenty of rock rash on the bumpers, sliders, and skid
· Rear upper control arm bushings need to be replaced
· Sunroof will not seat all the way closed and has slight leak with heavy rain or high pressure wash
· Several small dings and passenger rear quarter panel pushed in a little
· Plenty of desert pinstriping
· Has not had radiator flush in about 50k miles and will need soon. Should replace hoses at the same time
· Slight leak from the rear third member
· Front rotors and pads need to be replaced. Will try to have this work done prior to sale but if not, will order parts of your choice (up to $350) and have sent to you.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
Front and rear sway bars have been removed so the on-road handling takes some getting used to as there is significant lean while cornering. Makes for very good articulation off-road.
Leather is in decent shape for a 21-year-old vehicle. No tears in the front or third row seats. 2nd row has some cracking and one 2” tear. Center arm rest is starting to flake.
Reason for matte black paint: In December of 2010, the truck was involved in a minor accident. Driver of a Mitsubishi Lancer ran a left red arrow in front of me resulting in me hitting her right rear with the right front of the truck. The Demello front bumper handled it like a champ with no damage other than some missing paint. Damage included a small dent at the front of the fender, 2” bend at the right corner of the hood, and a smashed headlight. Instead of color matching to the original 13 year old green, I took the money from her insurance and replaced the fender, hood, and headlight and had it painted matte black.
Please PM me for additional details:
