Maybe look at modding a VW Westfalia top to the cruiser....you can usually find non runners cheap...

Plus, you'd have some additional interior camper parts!

You gonna add a tag axle or move the rear axle at all? That thing is gonna be awful arse heavy once its all set up for expedition.

Good luck with the search for a good fabricator.

my advice... keep the roof height low or you'll hate yourself when trying to ship it anywhere. By the sound of things you're planning on doing a lot of that. Keep it compact and you can ship it RORO cheap. Also fuel consumption...
