Wow

sub. The LC that makes everyone jelly.

No offense to the people who do a "build thread" for when they put bumpers and sliders on their lifted LC, but THIS is a build thread!

Motor Trend International Auto Show Las Vegas. Put the car on display there for the Thanksgiving weekend. Got it back and that's when it was time to get dirty. Started taking it out on the trails finally! Somewhere between Motor Trend and Christmas I got my Roadshower 4 in. I mounted the Rotopax to the roof, added the maxtrax in a Blue Ridge Overland Gear bag on the spare tire, and added the Front Runner spare tire step. Did a Christmas Eve run down the Las Vegas strip with the local offroad community. Decorated with Christmas lights. Christmas I got the Well Visors. So I installed those around New Years. Mohave County Search and Rescue put on a car show to help raise money for their organization. So drove down to Arizona for that. Between Christmas and the Mohave SAR show I installed the Slee fog lights buckets, ARB LED turn signals and Rigid Dually's

Four Wheeler March 2018 gets released. A buddy of mine in Salt Lake texts me a picture of the front & rear cover and asks if I'll sign his copy. I knew I did a photo shoot with Falken Tire. Up in till this point, the pictures were used only on Social Media. I had no idea they were going to make a printed ad with my LC in it. What an honor! Probably the coolest thing that's ever happened to me. Sometime around here I got in the Factor 55 hook, fairlead, and winch cable guard. The last 3 pictures are just a bunch more wheeling.

At the Las Vegas Motor Speedway they had an event called Laps for Charity. You donate money to their organization and they would allow you to do 4 laps on the oval track. That was pretty cool. It felt really weird to be in a big heavy vehicle hitting the banks at what felt like a hell of a lot faster than it really was. But every time I looked down at the speedo I was saddened. I felt like a NASCAR driver who was driving his lawn mower around the track.

The gas mileage is killing me in this rig. Ever since I got the LC done I haven't driven my 4runner. The LC is just so much more comfortable. So I start searching for a daily driver. Something so I can keep the mileage off the land cruiser & is good on gas. Behold! My 1981 Volkswagen Rabbit Diesel! Bought from the original owner!

Now I don't need 3 vehicles. So 1 has to go. My trusty steed, the 4runner. I had it for about 6 years. It got me into off roading, camping, fishing, it took me on many trips! And only let me down once! My brother has been begging me to sell it to him. So I finally caved in and did it. At least it's still in the family.

Overland expo. We leave vegas Thursday night after work. We are headed to Sedona to camp for the night. Taking a trail called Schnebly Hill. We are very close to camp. I start to hear something rubbing. Then I start to feel it. I pull over and jump under the truck to find one of the rear shocks has not only lost a bolt, but lost the rubber bushing as well! I pulled off a recovery point bolt off a friends tacoma and to my surprise it is the same thread pitch as my shock bolt. The washer is just big enough to keep the shock from falling off as well! The next morning we wake up to an amazing view! When we rolled in last night we thought we were the only ones, but this 200 series with a nice little trailer was camping next to us. His name was Yost and he owns a company called Rhino Adventure Gear in SoCal. Really nice guy. Wasn't upset at all that we crashed his spot at 1 in the morning. Called Toyota in flagstaff and ordered a shock bolt. They said they would have it next day. So I took it as easy as I could and dealt with the clanging coming from the loose shock. Saturday morning before we went to overland expo, I picked up an energy shock bushing from autozone and the bolt from Toyota. The bushing is a little small but it'll help with the noise and give me time to get home and get the OME bushing ordered.

The rest of May & beginning of June I go silent. The Golden Knights are in the Stanley Cup finals and those tickets are expensive! Plus I just put in another order with ARB for my drawer setup. 100's in the hills is coming up and it's freaking hot out in Vegas! So only got in 1 trip up into Utah. I also decided there is something weird with my front end that I don't like. I'm not necessarily sure what it is either. So I removed the hoop on the front bumper to see if maybe I thought it was too cluttered. That didn't really change my mind. I don't know what it is. But there's something I'm not happy with.

1 week before 100's in the hills my truck decides it's going to give me more issues. My mother is flying in the next day from Iowa for this trip and I get a check engine light. It's the knock sensors. Something I don't want to mess with in my driveway. They are underneath the super charger. I decided to take it to a shop to have done. We got the truck back the Wednesday before 100's. Loaded up Thursday and headed to Silverton, CO on Friday morning.

100's in the hills. What an amazing time! The town is beautiful. The scenery is amazing. The trails are unlike any I've ever seen. Saturday mom and I did Black Bear Pass, had lunch in Telluride, and then hit Ophir Pass. Saturday night was the raffle. I won an Yota MD key shell and a set of Owl Expedition ASAP Mud Flaps. @kelly saad had locked his keys in his rig. So I went over to try and help with my slim jim. We worked on it for a few hours that night. The next morning he finally got it unlocked! @kelly saad & @Austin Hot Shoe were both doing the same trails as I that morning. @willbt took us on the best trails of the weekend. Despite the rain and mud. We finished pretty early. We decided we wanted to see Kite Lake. I can't get over this place! I'm in love with this area! We get back into town and decided to get some beers and pizza. Enjoyed the company and the town before calling it a night and headed to bed. Left for Home on Monday morning.

On the way to Durango, CO from Silverton, CO I got the brakes so hot they failed. Had to pull over and let them cool down. The front passenger was so hot it was smoking. Made it the rest of the way home with no issues. Started feeling a grinding in the brakes so I ordered new front pads and rotors. Replaced them and still had a grinding. That's because the fronts weren't the issue despite the smoking in CO. The rears I had let get too worn down and now they were chewing up my rotors. So ordered rear brake pads and rotors. Did I mention it's freaking hot outside in Vegas? Pulled the awning out to get some shade and put the fan on me while I worked. My trail tailor tailgate panel has come in. I sent it off to powder coat and installed it once I got it back.

I love it. This truck was a definitely standout at HIH8. I was behind you on a few of the trails! Just a super nice rig. Thanks for sharing all these pics!

My buddy at M2 Motoring has asked if he can display my Land Cruiser at Sema again this year. This time for Jada Toys. There was quite a few things I wanted to change. After seeing all the beautiful cruisers at HIH8 I decided to order a set of @benc bumpers. I ordered one of @kelly saad front grilles. Mounted the TYT9800 ham radio. Mounted the LabRak antenna mount in the rear hatch jamb and installed the Diamond antenna for the Ham radio to it.

Whistler radar detector, backup camera, and smaller inverter.
Blackvue 4K dashcam
Warn recovery gear
H3R Performance fire extinguisher and quick release mount.

A few more changes made for Sema.

Went back down to 1 spare tire. I didn't want to pay for a 6th rim and tire when I had the Dissent bumpers ordered and could only use 1 spare.
New Hutchinson Bead Locks in flat black
285/75/17 Toyo Open Country M/T's
Installed the OME 2864 rear springs. The Slee's just weren't "HD" enough.
Installed the ASAP flaps I won at HIH8.
Installed the ARB precleaner on my snorkel.

After Sema went on a couple different trips before taking it to Motor Trend International Auto Show Las Vegas again.

One day my cruiser will be as badass as yours... just need to find a buyer for one of my kidney. :D

Man, I absolutely love the color and the Raptor Liner. That's the way I'm leaning for mine. Is raptor liner spray on by professionals only? I've been looking at monstaliner as well for a diy project. Of course, mine's never going to be at SEMA, so perfection isn't the goal.

First of all, @Beanzermin, this is an awesome rig. When I first saw this truck at HIH8, my jaw dropped to the ground. The pics in this thread are nice, but when you see the truck in person it's mind blowing and you don't know where to look first. Every time you are checking out a mod, you see another sweet detail and another and another, etc. All of the work done was well thought out and it oozed quality over every square inch of the truck. Trust me, every square inch had the @Beanzermin touch. You can see in my sig. line what I have done to my truck, and every time I parked next to him, my rig looked stock, guess who I quit parking next to. Great meeting you and your mom @Beanzermin. See you in July!
