Coming right along, what are the grey “Hardi frame” panels for under your left door? I’m not familiar with them up here.

They are for shear... since the front wall is almost entirely made up of the garage doors that provide little to no shear. They have 24" 1 1/8" bolts that go down into a 4'x5' concrete footer. Had I made the garage wider and allowed room for 1 4x8 piece of OSB on each side of each door I don't think I would have needed them.

Thats moving right along. It's nice to have the equipment to make the job easier and safer. Looking great !!:beer:

And our little desert tortoise came out of his winter slumber last week... We couldn't find him for a while, but he had made his way into the shop and was checking it out!

Looks awesome, speedy work! What are the metal panels called on each side of the shorter sectional door?

They are called Hardi Frames. They are for sheer since the garage doors take up the majority of the wall.

Well, due to not much going on in Vegas right now I've had plenty of time to work on the shop, and it's actually getting close to being signed off as completed by the city!

My neighbor took this awesome drone shot one night during framing -

Looks awesome!! Any plans on adding windows later for natural light?

I am betting someone bought a donor for the new build...

Ok, good news! City signed off on the shop and I got my certificate of occupancy!

Stucco is done and they're leaving the scaffolding up for me so I can paint the shop with it.

I ordered a high-bay UFO LED light and I was pretty impressed with the output. These things are less than $100 now. After hanging it up in the middle of the shop for a test, I ordered 7 more. With some lighting and power, time to get back to work on the 45!! Other things will come when I have the time... insulation, drywall, office/bathroom, but for now it's a shop and I can use it.

Thanks for following along on the shop build, and sorry about the intermission on the 45!

Wow. Your shop is so big inside, the picture makes everything look like miniatures 😄

Looking excellent Riley. Will you use a mobile swamp cooler inside to cool the shop in the Summer. I just moved in to the new house with RV garage so plenty of space here now as well. Phoenix and Vegas hot now so I am
Planning on a mobile swamp cooler, ideas? Tom
