Waking up an old one here, I’ve got a set of OEM 2003 wheels I’m thinking about doing this with. Would be going on galactic grey mica, anyone do that combo?

When painting the center caps, how do you remove the chrome Toyota badge and then replace it? They appear to be heat-staked onto the center caps.

Also, how are folks dealing with wheel weights when painting shod rims? Paint over them (ugh)? Rip them out and replace with stick-ons? De-bead the tire and crimp on new ones?

You can either carefully tape the logo or carefully cover it in Vaseline, so the paint won’t stick. It would be best to remove and replace wheel weight for the best finish. Depending on your ability to paint, you are adding weight to the wheel and may want a rebalance.

Also want to add that the heritage wheels are holding up great after four years. Maybe two tiny chips, but the powder coat has been fantastic.

Not OEM resprays but here are my bronze heritage wheels on GGM - I'm a huge fan of bronze. Had bronze BBS on my old subaru too.

Those look awesome, the stock 18s will have more square inches of bronze per wheel but they are also just sitting around so worst case I’m out a can of paint and they go back to sitting.
Just need to find a nice darker bronze like on the HH wheels

Thanks brotha - I've used this in the past and it held up pretty well. I also put UV resistant rattle can matte clear coat on top as well. Duplicolor maybe? Whatever was at the hardware store.
