Broken Weld (1 Viewer)

The hanger above my cats keeps snaping off. I've had it welded twice now and the hanger finds a new spot to break every few months. Anyone else have this problem or have a solution? It's driving me crazy. Once it breaks, all I hear is clatter from under the truck.

Haven't had the problem myself. Have you checked the other hangers? If there is excess movement somewhere, that might be causing the weld to break.

Or you may also have a motor or trans mount that has too much free movement and needs to be replaced. If the engine can move too much it will cause them to break.

Also check to see whether the exhaust is welded / fixed solid at any point - I had a heat shield installed and someone welded it to the exhaust. As a result the exhaust couldn't move freely / vibrate and hence broke at the hang points...

How do you check for broken Trans/Motor mounts?
