So Beno and I are working on my HG job today and we are getting ready to pull the cams and the head. Working on some of the last little bits of taking things off and we get to the dizzy. Adjusting bolts is taken off and we get it set to TDC to pull it out and no go whatsoever. Beno applies a breaker bar to give it some go and boom.....Beno [ referred to from now on as fawk head ] busts the dizzy housing in the head....basically outboard side is moveable but the tube part of the housing going through the head wall is horribly stuck....see the evidence below....
Fawk head just got off the phone with Dan getting some advice...looks like another $160 being sunk into this project... We'll be taking that out of Beno's paycheck....
So, any pointers on getting the housing out of the head? Or, any ideas on why it might have gotten stuck? Dan recommended that we leave the housing the way it is, tear it down, pull the head, and let the machine shop take care of it....I'm starting to think that is the best course of action at this point....
Just an FYI to not over force the dizzy like dumb-ass Beno did....
[ no hard feelings Beno....fawker.... ]
Good day.
