So I found this link while looking for BJ42 and FJ40 differences. www.brian894x4.com/LC40.html It says down towards the middle of the page that FJ40s were made in Brazil until 2001. Is that true? So, IF IF IF it were possible to get one of these up to the states, would YOU get one? I think I would. Anybody know if it is even possible, or true for that matter? Oh well, just tossing this out there. Thanks in advance. JL

yep, the made the fj40s and fj45s until 1991. they stopped making the troopy four to five years ago-ish. and they are all diesel. its pretty sweet seeing them float around knowing they are younger then they look.:flipoff2:

Theres not really a problem with red tape and such, its more of the fact the custom agents are on strike and have been for a while, so all crates take an average of one year sitting at the docks plus however long it takes to arrive to the US. About that time I found a nice 60 series, so I pretty much didn`t look deeper. But I already regret it, it would be nice to have a really really "new" fj40.

Oh, and by troopy, I was referring to Long wheel based 40 series.

nope, not made in Mexico, Mexico AFAIK never even imported the Land Cruiser in any form, they did bail on an order for some fj45LV's back around 1964 though

Whats even better then the extended cab is the four door version. Whenever they go by, you just sit there with your mouth open..
