Working on cars I can't afford
Hey all,
I went off roading last weekend with people and shortly thereafter my brakes (mostly the front) started to make a grumbling grinding noise. There's no change in pedal movement or stopping power. I wondered if the calipers were just dirty so today I cleaned them out at the car wash. I also took the wheels off to spray brake cleaner into them. While there I checked the rotors and pads and they looked fine ( the pads are ~10,000mi old). I couldn't see or feel any grooves in the rotors and the pads still had tons of meat on them. Has anyone else ever had this problem? Does anyone have any other suggestions for making the noise go away? Thanks for the help.
