... recently my 'Brake' light has been staying on for the first few minutes that I drive... despite the fact that I never use the parking brake. Any ideas?

When brake fluid is low the light will stay on. Check the brake master fluid level.

Fluid was low... filled it up and the light went off... taking it in to have the rotors/pads checked as well.
