Brake Booster Fill - How Often is Normal? (1 Viewer)

Long timer lurker, first time poster. Picked up a 04 GX470 back in June and have almost finished going through all the critical components to trust it to take me hours away from cell reception/support and back without concern.

I have tested my booster system by depleting it and listening to it refill, don't have any fluid leaks. While driving I can hear it refill the booster system somewhat regularly and being new to the platform can't tell if it's normal behavoir or a symptom that it needs servicing soon.

So how often should one notice the booster refilling?

The booster on the GX is functionally identical to the booster on the 100 series. If you evacuated with key off by pumping pedal and then with key on the motor ran for ~30 secs and then stopped, then it’s functioning properly. The motor will run every 3-5 applications of the brakes while driving to keep the system pressurized.
