So as I work away on my exhaust, I realize the perfect tool to have would be a combination of a boxhead wrench with instead of a closed end on one side, a deep socket, just without the extra space for the nub on the end of a socket wrench to go in. So it's essentially a deep socket with a handle, that is shorter than a conventional deep socket on a socket wrench.

Not sure if I am explaining this well, but anyone know of something like this existing?

sounds like a scrench, they come in a variety of sizes. And easy to cut to length.
Or could use a ratcheting flat closed end wrench if you don't need the extra depth. Note some of them have a folding handle if access is an issue.
Or get a socket with a hex body and use a wrench on it?
Or a pass-through socket? Those are usually fairly short.
And for a DIY approach:
Know anybody with a welder? Your choice of caliber and length of socket and handle...
Or if you are in a hurry, you could try to find a box wrench that just about fits on the socket and hammer it on?
Or grind down 2 flats on the socket and use an open end wrench?
Or drill a few holes through the socket and stick a screwdriver through those?

SK Tools makes a nice set like this: 86142 I think they call it the SuperKrome flex combination wrench set?
