Not sure but I have a 1965 fj40 and a 1972 and it won’t fit on a 72
So it runs from 1965-1969

Great question - my first choice is original wheel, but if it’s gonna cost me an arm and a leg, I’ll have to go the path of least resistance like many others…

i think if you call Brandon out in Salida Colorado , at Classic Cruisers , he will have one for you at a good shake too ....

if you go FJ40 ?

im gonna tell everyone down in CHAT Forum ...

then the upside down Bezzle police here on MUD will come ......

they are after non-period correct steering wheels ever since the COLUMBIAN SA spec. land cruiser crises began long ago ...

The spline count changed 7/69 on the FJ40. Early was 36. Later was 33 that stayed to at least the pre airbag in the 80 series. Would count splines before buying any 40 series steering wheel. Early wheel was different than the 40 series as was the steering box. May have changed count 11/69 or may have always been 33. Answer is probably in the 55 series section.

Do the early 1969-1969 wheels have the three horn buttons on the spokes?

I have a 68 FJ55 column-shift column at the shop that I already sold the wheel off of a long time ago. But I can check a 40 wheel on it if you still need to know that. Just leave me a voicemail.😊

mr. mark here is better suited to correctly answer that particular TECH. question ,

but ....?

ALL the early TECH. photos i have ever seen such as the ones i posted above many months ago suggest they do INDEED have the 3 stand alone horn buttons and the giant AIR-BAG pad detail in the middle that makes this one hell of a MUST HAVE early steering wheel for any early FJ55 owner operator , who we all know are total
" MUST HAVES " them selves ....:D

since then above till now today , this has found me and is available as we speak to any early FJ55 MUST HAVE , that MUST HAVE it right
now , right away without any more delay ..

- it is directly related to this early first generation FJ55 MUST HAVE steering wheel topic in current discussion here ....

- i also will consider a special-needs trade for anything i like and especially need .

- i do like trades more then anything at all in life , and that is NOT a joke !
