So today my 60 got hit from the drivers side fender all the way to rear quarter. Is there a recommended shop in the SF bay area that I should take it to? I'm in the east bay but go to SF daily and peninsula often.
Insurance guy is stopping by Thursday am to take pics and run the numbers.
And by the way, where can I find a color chart or code for my 85? Is it in the body somewhere or?
Thanks again,
Chelo

I have used cooks collision in redwood city a few times and they have always treated me right and got it done quick. I can't remember his name, but he is an older gentleman. Get him, he does his work right. Good luck

Somebody here had his 60 painted at Miracle auto body in Walnut creek.

I used Gigler's Auto Body on 19th btw South Van Ness + Shotwell a few years back after my Tundra got sideswiped. The guy is an old time craftsman, runs a very tight shop, and did excellent work. Prices are not cheap but definitely fair compared to other estimates I got. On time and right on budget, no BS. I found out later that he is a bit of a legend...

I have used Miracle Auto Body in Mountain View for a couple of classic broncos and scouts. Ask for Dave (the owner). They have a great body guy there. Does not just bondo the crap out of your metal.

Body / Paint Shop in Concord - Professional Automotive

Disclosure: a) I am kind of picky and b) I only know these guys professionally.

I suggest Tim Kamm (the owner) and the crew (Tim #2 and Jim) at Professional Automotive in Concord, CA. I needed dents out of lower panels and half a paint job (OEM paint in 045 white was in fine shape). They did an awesome job and I am very happy with the work - dents, prep and paint. Not cheap but a very fair price.

Referred to Tim by my upholstery guy in Walnut Creek (Alex - also a great value). Will do a small build thread when the carpets are done.

Over the years, I have done business with Cooks, Concord Collision and Jim's Body Shop in this area and have never had a problem - have also never talked to or done business with the owner before. Those shops seem to specialize in newer cars and insurance jobs.

Tim and his crew do it all. The day I showed up I was surprised to see that he had my next door neighbor's 427 Cobra in the shop for a new fender (ouch).

Give Tim a try:

The insurance guy came in yesterday. I received a check today but I've yet to take it to get an estimate. Does this sound right? Don't I have the right to get an estimate and take it to a shop that I want? I'm not going to deposit the check until I get a few estimates. I feel I'm not getting enough.

By law you have the right to take it to any licensed body shop you want. However if you drag your feet to long they might push the issue on you.
