Hi guys i have a few things i need to know about body lifts before i put one in.
I have heard of body lifts where you just whack it in and i have heard of other body lifts where you have to modify the steering shaft, the gearstick length and the radiator mounts.
How small a body lift do i have to go to not worry about these things?
How hard is it to install, can anyone give me a quick step by step guide to put one in?
Can you cut down a 3inch body lift and make it into a 1inch and a 2inch so if the 1inch isnt big enough i can put the 2inch in? Or is that just dodgy/too much effort?

The back is getting beefed up to be level with the front but i think i still may need an extra inch or two all round.

Thanks

first remember, every 1" up is 2" in tire size.
1" looks good
2" is iffy (not my taste)
3" is ugly as sin

1" is safe, no serious mods needed...

the guy to talk to is lowenbrau... he has one on his 73...
shoot him an email direct and ask...

I have the parts for a 1" on my swb bj70, but I havn't installed it yet. It looks like I might have to lower the radiator, and I'm wondering if there is enough flex in the fuel tank fill hose to stretch it the extra inch. I think those are the only issues on a 1". But that's just a guess as I havn't done it yet.

Yeah thats true maybe i should only go 1inch.
Didnt think about fuel hose.
Thanks guys

Any body else got experience?

Our trucks are very similar. Same color, tires, lift and shackles, snorkel, year. I was wondering about the vin reading bj71, so technically these are BJ71's?

Mine has a 3b. But the vin reads jt3bj71xxxxxxxxxx
