Thanks Pat sounds great! I believe Johnathan still has that set of city racer rims for me too, if you have space to bring those up too that would be awesome!Way to get it done! I need to be getting some 60 knuckles and brakes your way!
Looks good. I am at the same point with our 71. Waiting for the rest of my parts.
Thanks, make sure you buy the later model 6x series shims when you center the knuckle. It appears they have a wider dimension between knuckle studs than the Fj40. Found that out the hard way upon reassembly and am waiting for parts now.
Check out this vid from OTRAMM. It’s for an 80 series but same concept. Pretty straightforward.
Love the pieces of railroad track you have laying around... I gotta find me some of that.Mounted the new rough stuff perches on the 70 series rear axle. First moved the perches inward towards the diff housing a total of 5.5” to locate them in the stock FJ40 location. Then made sure they were perpendicular to the pinion flange and tacked and burned them in. My welds are still amateur at best but they will do. Plan to stitch weld 2” on the inside of the perches tmrw just to be safe.
