blower resistor

does anyone know the resistance and wattage of the resister on the fan blower? i have been told that it is a 1 ohm 50 watt resistor. is this correct?

I just replaced mine, and the "new" resistor had written on it (once I cleaned it up): "1.3 ohm Pigeon."

Now, maybe someone can explain to me what the "pigeon" means ???
