Blackberryr - Dave's 85-FJ62 Seats are in!!

HI all FJ-Dave from Aussie land here.
I have just picked up this 1985 FJ62 for a bargin price.
Most 60's over here are rusted out, but i found a ripper. it only has a couple of pieces of rust around the flares on the rear and inside the back left barn door. other than that its in good nic for 25yrs young.

PS... my daughter has named it Blackberry, so blackberry it is (my hilux she named ice-cream, and the wifes excel is raspberry)

I have most original reciepts for the truck.
check out the salesman in the owner manual.
first up, i have to place new suspension under it, it will be 2"lift plus 2" body, to accommodate 33" tyres.

The manual still has original receipts for car, arcon install etc…. check out the business card still in the cover…..(pron-mo at its best bwahahahaha)

Found out it has set-up for duel battery (except battery)
It has engine kill switch
It has battery isolator switch
Cd player
UHF

Needs for RWC..horns fixed, high beam fixed, hand brake needs adjusting, a cover over the number plate lights.

All very minor things.

Once on road list is
2” suspension
2” body blocks
33” tyres on 15x10 rims
2 bucket seats
(might do bucket seats and 2” body lift before I go for RWC, so I can get mod plates at same time for seating and body lift.)

Then save up for
9000 or 12000 pound winch
12v fridge
Roof rack
Make tube front bar
Long range fuel tank
Rear tube bar with tyre carrier
Snorkel

You guys sure have a lot of choices for after market Cruiser gear. Is the EFS suspension more or less cost than ARB?

thought less .. thought all the " others " are less than ARB ..

both front seat installed. the passenger saet base plate was laser cut and bolted right up.
next step is to modify the plate to look and fit better (o/a size wise).
I have also removed the fuel tank and next is to remove rear bar, and start on the suspension.

Cheers - Dave

That OEM rubber carpet kit is awesome!

big day on the cruiser today,
degreased, cleaned up and painted red-oxide-primer on half the fuel tank.
removed the tail shaft
loosened all the shackle nuts
loosened all the u-bolts
disconnected the hand brake
in did the brake lines
loosened off the wheel nuts

so hopefully in the morning the rear axel axel/diff will be out and
ready to clean/rebuild if neccessary
on the cards is also grind out around 25 rivits,
paint the rest of the fuel tank
clean and prime fuel tank straps
and anything else i can do if time alows.

before and after pics of the tank

Cheers - Dave
