I'ved decided to go to the Black Hills Crusier Classic. Anyone from HD going? I plan on taking my 60 and pull my M-416 trailer.

By the way , it was great to see you all at the Thrill on the Hill. Mike

Hi Mike!

I was good to meet you and put a face to a name.

Yup - wheeling in South Dakota.

I will be there covering the event. I did not get to go last summer but the trails in SD are awesome and I am certain that the event will be great. The Black Hills have been in a drought for a number of years so fire danger has always been an issue, but they got a record amount of rain last week so that should not be an issue this year. Definitely an event not to miss.

Did the trails become any more wagon friendly? The last time I went, my fat 80 didn't care for some of the tight trails!

They were struggling with this when I was there in 2004 and were planning more wagon-friendly runs in later years. I would just also add that the year I was there the number of wagons was pretty low, at least as compared to Cruise Moab.

Most of the trails are definitely tight, so you see more 40s, but for the big climbs the mini trucks seem to do best. Trails like Calamity Canyon and Old Miner are difficult enough to be fun and offer great scenery. The Black Hills are a beautiful place and so different than the terrain we have in New Mexico. Well worth the trip.
