Hey all.

I have put my eyes on a 1986 BJ75.

The truck is all set for a road trip... without rear seats.

Well, I have 2 childrens and I wonder if I can put a front facing rear seat... Ideally, Toyota seats.

Is it possible ?

The top of the range troopys come as a five seated and have forward facing rear seat

you're going to need to put something up if you want 3-point belts in the rear (shoulder belts). doing the same for a hzj73 as we speak - luckily i found an unused rear seat with belts and am now hunting the roll bar.

your 75 will be a hard top so you likely could weld something up on a pillar.

or, as it seems from looking at all the 73s on this page, you could just go with lap belts.

you mean like this??

crusher : is this seat is OEM or seat that you fit in from another truck ?

Is the seat from a BJ70 can be easily adapted ?

Thank you all. I'm looking foward for this project if I can put the hand on the truck.

retro fitting is never usually easy...
that is a factory seat in a 1995 HZJ75.

if the seats are close to the proper width i think Bruces idea has merit.

<of course i like the rear seats from a Sidekick retrofitted in>
<<i have been considering doing this with my ragtop>>

yes it can be done mine was done when I boiught it but was done so poorly we ripped it out and installed the roller drawers and the cage.

make sure its anchored properly to the floor and there are retaining nuts etc underneath the floor and its reinforced for saftey and you put seatbelts in.
