Thought I would share a few pics of my current project. This old BJ74 was in pretty bad shape, engine and gearbox knackered, no brakes and terrible rust- sills were previously made of chicken wire and filler.

Ive rebuilt the engine (new liner, full set of pistons, frost plugs, every bearing and gasket etc) rebuilt gearbox and transfer, new brakes, knuckle rebuild etc that was the easy part, The body is taking forever. A heap of new steel, welder has had a workout. Fully painted in epoxy primer, then CV black, then Upol Raptor Liner (etalon underseal underneath). Can finally call it rust free. Ive also painted the inside of every panel, doors, dashboard etc with a rubberised undersealer to deaden help any rattles or vibrations. I will probably pull the engine and gearbox out for a proper detailing once the body is complete, as with all the new paint, it looks crap. Ive removed a/c, and plan to relocate the power steering pump to the a/c pump location, and declutter the engine bay as much as possible (13b-t's look seriously busy)

Has 2" spring, 2" shackle lift, and 2" body lift. Moved the front axle forward 50mm. 25mm wheel spacers, -44 rims and 35" mickey thompsons. Rear diff lock (spartan).

I am setting up the front windscreen to fold, (imported the windscreen blocks, foding wipers etc) and the roof to be easily removable.
I call this my mall crawler because I have a beat up pzj70 for an offroader, I'd rather keep this one nice.

Some days I wish id never started this thing, the frustration is real. But I am nearly at assembly point with just the doors to finish. If any one is interested I will update photos as I progress

A little more progress. I had a stuff up with the raptor paint- I needed more and the tint was mismatched so the doors look terrible haha. Luckily the inside of them was painted with the old batch, so the inside is still matching. I have the correct replacement paint coming so I will do a closed door respray of the entire vehicle soon (was going to anyway, to fix some imperfections).

On the plus side, its starting to look like a landcruiser again!!

I have the engine bay 99% complete, just need to sort out the heater piping and get new brake and cutch master cylinders

Next jobs- assemble the interior- I have painted dash and all associated parts with black raptor liner.

Build exhaust- have the 3" sports exhaust kit sitting there, waiting for chopping and welding

Rebuild injectors- shes pretty smoky!

And 100 other little jobs
