nice! them are some funky shackles! but very nice 70. What is it?
it being the truck well as far as I know it is a 1985 BJ73V and I have no idea what the V stands for ??

And the fenders I have no Idea and I have never seen another Land Cruiser with any thing even close ..
Its the only reason I bought it and the fact it is a Toyota Diesel ..
It was all I could to to make the choice to buy a import for a truck.. I have had domestic all my life ...
I bought my first import , it was a 02 RSX and after that I swore I would never buy a domestic auto again ..And my next driver will hold its value not drop like a stone ..

So in steps the Land Cruiser after few years of self debate . Then the search for a cool BJ40 .

Well Thank gawd for the internet . I clicked many a link and near wore Google out

Then I seen this blue jewl ... Hmmm

I know its a Shame but it wont see much off road use .

I plan on making the inside match the outside ..

At least I will ,drive it every day :D

Hi WILD FX , Nice 73, I like the color, I was noticing the leaf spring shackles you have ( under the front bumper) those are real heavy duty ones, just a word of advice, if you want a better ride I would get Old Man Emu shackles. Those shackles that are on it now are verticle and because of that it is harder for them to move forward when absorbing bumps.
just my 2pennys. Nice Unit,
P.S. I had the same problem with my BJ 74
aaron kuit

Did some searching and nada on the OME shackles....do you have any links to the said parts ?

The shocks I have on it are Rancho 9000's so I can turn em right down ...

All I hope is that it will be a softer ride than my lowerd 02 RSX...

Edit.... ok I found them ..look a bit cheapish but I am going to give these a go and set the suspention on soft and see how it goes .. I am going to polish the Shackles on it .. should look purdy!

Still searching ..
This is what I got .. when its in my hands it should look even cleaner

Shackle brand won't impact the angle that they sit at or the quality of the ride unless your choosing between greasable and non. A longer shackle however will allow the heavily arched spring to flex more readily. FWIW I think the ones that are on there look kinda cool...except if that centre pin is for anti inversion, then they're on backward. Nice truck.

Its possible they are the factory f/g flares fixed permanently.

Hey nice looking ride. Those aren't rancho shocks, there pro comp es9000, nice shock but not manually adjustable. And those shackles have pins on both front and back there for strength and anti inversion, oh they should have grease nipples in them too.

Whats that tiny lil Knob for ?
And yes the pins are on both ends and also have extra positioning holes ..

West Coast .. I want to turbo this thing in a bad way .. I near wore out the search button .. The site should have a turbo forum haha.. There is some cool home brew kits..

I have been told by one source that the AXT kit will out perform any other kit out there on a B3. A $1000 dollar dyno bet to back that up .. Stated Ftpounds at 400+ and 200hp+ ..

Changing a motor is out of the question just cause I dont want to split up the stock stuff. Only time I want that power is to merg and truckin up a hill with no trouble .Once and a while towing my Bikes ..
