I searched but could not find my answer, hopefully I'm not a repeat-
My 86 24 volt BJ70 glow plugs work most of the time. Occasionally during colder weather I cannot hear the relay and the plugs don't heat. My question is - can I add a momentary switch to activate the relay by adding power to its signal wiring. But leaving all existing wiring intact since this only occurs rarely, but I don't want to get stranded with a no-start. Sure appreciate the help...

This is a really common mod.. especially on Superglow based system that tend to become problematic later in life. I am not familiar with the 3B 24V glow system.. if it has some variant of Superglow that includes an initial period of full voltage for glow followed by an extended prior of a lower voltage then seek to understand that first and tend towards tapping into the trigger wire for the lower voltage glow cycle.
