Hey Folks,

Can anyone assist me with which waterpump measurements will fit the BJ44 (2B Diesel)?

Need the following measurements:

1. Shaft Diameter
2. Deck Height (Distance from the base of the pump up to the mounting face
3.Bolt hole distances on the pulley mount

I need to order the pump prior to taking the unit apart so id really like to know which pump to order.

Thanks in advance,

David

I have an OE one if I recall. It isn’t for sale, but I’ll see if I can find it to give you a part number.

This is the part number. Fits B, 2B. 3B
16100-59095
It suits Dynas and Landcruisers

Just looked up the last water pump I put on my BJ60 3B in 1993, it was a 16100-59105. Not sure how it differs from the above 59095....

The number I quoted was for BJ4* and BU20 Dyna. I seem to remember B engine water pumps come with different shaft lengths to suit various models.

I’d guess you’re right. I know I had great difficulty finding the proper fan clutch when I later had to replace it. Many vendors said “it’s a different number but it's the same“ but the bores mating the water pump shaft were slightly oversized (they should be a snug sliding fit for correct balance and alignment) it took some searching and returns but finally got the correct one with the correct fit.

if you could measure the length and diameter of the shaft please.

very much appreciated!

thanks

Sorry I didn’t post this sooner. The Aisin part number is WPT-081. This cross references to 16100-59095 and 16100-59096. I have no way of accurately measuring what you call the deck height. The distance from the end of the shaft to the face of the flange, which is not shown in any of the pictures, is approximately 8mm longer than the shaft.

I‘ve been trying to sort out the differences myself. I ordered a new pump not realizing the PO had swapped a different pump and pulley. I’m assuming this was in anticipation of adding accessories (power steering, air compressor). The water pump pulley needs to match the pump version you have due to the change in distance from the block to the flange. I wanted to consolidate what I’ve found regarding water pumps here. I’ll add edit/add/correct the following if someone in the know wants to contribute.

Landcruiser BJ40 7/77-7/80
without? viscous coupling. Subs from 16100-59016 can use as replacement for 16100-59055 water pump with cast iron body
NOTE - engine block to outer flange edge is ???mm

Landcruiser BJ42 8/80-3/84
without viscous coupling BJ42 -3/84 with early 3B red block engines with direct drive fan
NOTE - engine block to outer flange edge is ???mm

Landcruiser BJ42 BJ70 BJ73 4/84-7/88
with viscous coupling for Landcruiser 40 70 73 74 series models with late 3B red block and 13BT engines with viscous drive fan
Landcruiser BJ74 10/85-12/89
NOTE - engine block to outer flange edge is 135mm

Landcruiser BJ70 BJ73 8/88-12/89
with viscous coupling for Landcruiser 70 73 series models 8/88- with 3B blue block engines with viscous drive fan hub
NOTE - engine block to outer flange edge is 120mm
