Hey guys new to this whole thread stuff but im gonna give it a crack
bit of a run down 21 work as a diesel mechanic have a bunch of old toyotas ranging from ae86s to bj40s and a 44
So i bought a bj44 recently that im ''restoring''/ getting back on the road needs a ton of work but im super dedicated to get it back on the road
this is how i got it on the 16/11/20 its got a 60 series p/s box leaf over conversion saf axle coil conversion 12hd and 5 speed whole lot of extra bracing welded on the chassis including new shock mounts front and rear with cut out wheel arches and some really bad rust repairs !!!!

so i done a wee bit of work over the last 3 weeks iv removed and sold engine removed some add ons from the chassis

so this was the tub not sure why it was cut out but none the less iv removed and ordered some new panels

so iv gather a bunch of parts over the last 3 weeks
3b 4speed factory front and rear diffs,factory split rims,factory front chrome bumper ,all the mounts missing from my chassis and some single jump seats so i can run 6 people in the rear!! and drivers door glass 'jdm version'

so iv removed the roof to see if the gutter was worth saving
iv since ordered a new roof gutter and picked up a half cut of a roof for the caravan window removal

Wowee that's an awesome project! Did NZ get BJ44's or is it an import?? We never got the mid wheel base in Aus.
What engine did it have originally?

Hey mate na it was a jdm import factory 2b 24volt vacuum 4wd , yha shes a awesome project cant wait to get it done haha !
 
Some more of the parts I picked up yesterday gonna have to modify the rear crossmember to take the barn doors !

done a wee bit more work today pulled out the bend where the engine mount sits and tidy up some welds and grind marks left from the engine swap mounts !

so i have stripped the cab down and off the chassis tonight ready for me to come in and cut off all the saf axle swaps on the chassis !
looking for a FF rear diff in new Zealand if anyone's got one also chasing a 12v complete loom for cab and engine to suit 3b! cheers

a bit of slow progress sadly this weekend but none the less i got the saf axle out and cut of all the mounts also cut out a bit of boxing in the chassis 7 cut off wheels later !!! time to tackle the other side tomorrow
